One of Hyperwave’s fundamental principles is that those who create content should also be able to distribute it without having to call their system administrator on a daily basis. The technology should be there to assist and simplify the process, not to get in the way and slow productivity. Of course all this needs to happen within the context of the rules and guidelines that have been set up by the company.
Intranet out of the box
Whether you wish to build up an intranet, a web site for a project or an information portal for a customer, Hyperwave WCM has you covered.
No matter how many web sites, wikis or blogs are created on your system, Hyperwave WCM always makes sure that corporate identity guidelines are followed to the letter. All pages are based on customizable templates, support an approval process and maintain a version history.
WYSIWYG Editing
Hyperwave WCM offers a true WYSIWYG experience. All editing takes place directly inside the browser. An optional approval process makes sure that only content that should get published does. While changes are being made, the last published version of a page is available to visitors. In this way, it is possible to work directly on the production system. This is especially handy for project web sites that do not have to be doubly maintained.
Templates and Snippets
Using customizable templates, WCM frees content providers from styling decisions and allow them to focus on the content itself. Where templates allow, snippets can be added and removed at will to provide a high degree of flexibility and freedom. Should there be three columns or perhaps two? Maybe an information box on the left? All variations are possible and yet they look consistently great.
Separation of style and content
The strict separation of content and styling in Hyperwave WCM has many benefits. Changes can be made to a site’s look without having to touch each page individually and without putting the existing content in danger. Content providers can focus on their work without having to worry about HTML, CSS or any other web technologies.
Content can be shared between several pages each having its own way of presenting it. For example, a page can be created once and then be rendered for printing, Web, mobile devices or even for PDF output.
Media Repository
The media repository serves as a central storage for documents and images to be used and reused in content throughout the site. Its strong visual presentation makes selecting the right item a snap.
Wikis, Blogs and More
Wiki and Blog
Document creation in wikis allows teams to collaborate quickly and easily. Unlike many wiki solutions, Hyperwave WCM allows users to edit wiki content without needing to remember a special wiki syntax for formatting. Document management features such as version control, access rights and search are all there to help users get the most out of their wiki. Blogs are perfect for covering one-to-many information distribution needs. RSS support and tagging tools are included, of course.
Hierarchal Web Sites
For larger intranets it may become necessary to provide separate areas to represent different departments, divisions or regions. Hyperwave WCM allows for the creation of sub sites each with its own administrators and content providers. In this way, the marketing department can maintain their own content separately from engineering and sales departments, all the while maintaining the desired layout, navigation and links that make all of the sites work together as a whole.
Team Workspace Integration
Hyperwave Team Workspace is the ideal place for teams to work together and Hyperwave WCM is the ideal place to make information available to large audiences. New features integrating these two great tools make it easy for teams to include content from a team workspace in a project specific site. A new wiki module allows team members to collaborate on documents with ease right in the context of their Team Workspace.
