Bavarian savings banks get informed with Hyperwave IS/6 based Intranet

IZB SOFT delivers Web based application to manage business information and processes

Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Bayern's IT service provider, IZB SOFT, has placed it´s trust in Hyperwave's IS/6 Enterprise Content Management Platform for the creation of a Web based information system with the development of an internal information system called S-Intranet (Sparkassen Intranet). The system is already being used by over 30,000 users at 60 Bavarian savings banks.

Hyperwave’s IS/6 ECM solution fulfilled the clearly defined requirements for the S-Intranet project. The software can easily and quickly be integrated into the Sparkasse organisation’s corporate design and enables the creation of an container system in which editorial staff can publish information without needing to acquire a great deal of technical expertise. If required, the Hyperwave solution can be expanded with additional applications, consequently guaranteeing investment protection in terms of future developments.

Convincing performance features

A major factor in the decision to develop the Intranet based on the Hyperware IS/6 platform were its additional features, which set it apart from competitors. These include a dynamic, user-based webpage structure. This refers to a dynamic link management system which ensures that users are offered information according to their relevant access rights.

Additional features include consistent role and privilege models and improved support for full text indexing of generic documents, particularly under Microsoft Office. Moreover, Hyperwave IS/6 offers more flexible functions for managing content than products from other suppliers.

"In our opinion, the S-Intranet information system has become indispensable", says Franco Cutruneo, IZB SOFT Technical Product Specialist. In the meantime, the S-Intranet supports all of the Bavarian savings bank’s business processes. The system serves as an internal information medium with its central focus set on the corporate handbook and current conditions. In the future, the Intranet will be further expanded into a cross-institute Extranet. IZB SOFT also uses a Hyperwave based Intranet system as a central medium for corporation-wide current information.
