Hyperwave eRecords Suite Receives DoD 5015.2 Certification For
Records Management
eRecords Suite’s tight integration with Hyperwave’s
collaborative Knowledge Management solutions enable government agencies
to securely manage critical records, share information, and reduce
risk.
April 04, 2005
Hyperwave, a leading provider of collaborative Enterprise Content
Management solutions announced today that Hyperwave eRecords Suite
has received certification against the U.S. Department of Defense
(DoD) 5015.2 Standard. With this achievement, Hyperwave is one of
only ten vendors currently certified in both Chapter 2 (Mandatory
Requirements) and Chapter 4 (Management of Classified Records) for
Records Management.
The Hyperwave eRecords Suite provides government agencies with
critical records management elements – supporting the entire
lifecycle of an agency’s records. Government agencies benefit
from an innovative solution that combines content, process, and
connectivity to invisibly enforce policy at the technology layer,
eliminating user-related error, time and cost factors, and ensuring
best practice records management.
"Hyperwave eRecords Suite empowers organizations to manage
and categorize electronic and physical records while leveraging
Hyperwave’s collaborative Knowledge Management solutions to
access, store, locate and manage information across a wide range
of platforms and networks," stated Peter Watson, vice president
of Hyperwave. "Achieving DoD 5015.2 Chapter 2 and Chapter 4
certification continues to show our commitment to delivering solutions
that meet and exceed stringent security compliance requirements
faced by government agencies."
To achieve certification, Hyperwave successfully demonstrated its
records management technology meets specific criteria for definition
and management of classification guides and rules that define security
clearance levels and provides key security, reporting and auditing
features that enable administrators to control document access and
track user interactions within the system. DoD 5015.2-STD certification
verifies Hyperwave eRecords Suite’s ability to control the
creation, declaration, classification, retention and destruction
of electronic and non-electronic records.
Hyperwave’s eRecord Suite is also approved against the UK’s
The National Archives 2002 ERM standard - a notable achievement
as together the DOD 5015.2 and the TNA 2002 testing standards are
regarded as the most important global records management standards.
By committing to these very high standards defined by the US and
UK electronic records managers and compliance officers, Hyperwave
is enabling it’s customers to provide EDRM based solutions
with the highest global records management credentials.
About DoD 5015.2 STD
The US DoD 5015.2 STD is the accepted design criteria for electronic
records management software applications. The 5015.2 standard defines
the mandatory operational, legislative, and regulatory requirements
that must be met by the records management application products
acquired by the Department of Defense. To receive the sought-after
DoD certification, a product must comply with 147 rigorous mandatory
requirements, provide the infrastructure for a corporate file plan
that includes all forms of electronic and physical documents, and
also provide a retention plan that incorporates both time- and event-driven
disposition instructions.
The Defense Information Systems Agency’s Joint Interoperability
Test Command (JITC) performs the Records Management Application
(RMA) Certification test of RMA products for compliance with DoD
5015.2 STD. It is DoD policy that only certified products be acquired
by DoD organizations. The National Archives and Records Administration
(NARA) has endorsed the JITC RMA Certification Testing Program.
