Press Releases
Hyperwave to Support SyncML Initiative
May 10, 2000
Hyperwave, a leading provider of knowledge management solutions
and enterprise information portals, announces plans to develop future
versions of Hyperwave eKnowledge Portal (HIP) to be compatible
with the SyncML standard. The HIP is a breakthrough in intranet
information systems - the ideal enterprise portal solution that
provide a secure, dynamic, flexible access to an organizationīs
information assets.
The SyncML initiative develops and promotes a new open industry
specification, making the synchronization of remote data and personal
information consistent across multiple networks and devices. The
SyncML specification will enable the creation of interoperable wireless
and wireline data synchronization products across corporate servers,
web servers, computers, laptops, PDAs, handheld computers, mobile
phones and other mobile devices, regardless of platform or manufacturer.
In future versions of the HIP, the SyncML protocol will be used
to make information held in the Enterprise Information Portal available
to the mobile knowledge workers, such as sales representatives,
service technicians, and traveling managers.
