Hyperwave, a leading provider of knowledge management solutions
and enterprise information portals, has opened its first office
in the UK at Heathrow, London. The new subsidiary is part of an
international expansion based on the success and rapid adoption
of Hyperwave's intranet and knowledge management software solutions.
To head the new office and build the company's presence in the
UK Hyperwave has appointed Chris Gomersall as UK managing director.
Gomersall joins Hyperwave from Tivoli Systems where he held the
position of director, northern Europe region for just over two years.
Prior to Tivoli he held a senior management role at Oracle Corporation
(UK). Gomersall began his career at Burroughs and Sequent Computer
Systems.
Says Christoph Michel, member of the executive board, Hyperwave
AG: "Hyperwave provides one of the most flexible and intuitive solutions
for building corporate intranets and portals. We already have a
high market share in our home market, Germany, and a growing awareness
in the United States, France and Austria. We are confident Chris
and his team can be equally successful in the UK."
Hyperwave has two core products designed to transform how organizations
manage information. The Hyperwave eKnowledge Portal permits searches
across unstructured and structured knowledge collections catalogued
on the Hyperwave Information Server. This information can include
text documents and other media and can be made accessible from Hyperwave's
customizable Web portal interface. Together the products provide
an 'out of the box solution' for standards-based knowledge management.
