Hyperwave brings e-learning to Telekom Austria

Telekom Austria AG and Hyperwave AG cooperate in eLearning

Hyperwave's new eLearning Suite (eLs) is to be used by Telekom Austria to provide a corporate-wide online learning platform for over 10,000 employees. The largest provider of telecommunications services for fixed and mobile phone networks in Austria, Telekom Austria will use the eLearning Suite to train employees in areas such as sales, customer service and support.

"We have several large-scale projects which require large numbers of employees to be trained at the same time. Staff also need to be trained quickly and efficiently, especially in the sales and call centre divisions," explains Gunter Eberhart, engineer and head of the IT user training department at Telekom Austria AG InformationsTechnologie. "Hyperwave's eLearning Suite will make a major contribution to the way that we currently train our staff."

Integrating educational content for standard programs such as MS/Office and SAP, the eLs will enable employees to access a wealth of educational media including web based training courses, videos and documents.

The eLearning Suite was selected by Telekom Austria following an evaluation phase lasting several months, during which different educational systems were compared. Says Gunter Eberhart: "The decisive factor that convinced us to choose the Hyperwave eLearning Suite was the unique support of an interactive learning process and the open system architecture. Since the eLearning Suite is based on the Hyperwave Information Server it can be expanded later as a Knowledge Management System."

By enabling the evaluation of training success and qualification, Hyperwave's eLearning Suite will also help Telekom Austria to add new aspects to its HR development processes.

The implementation of the eLearning Suite at Telekom Austria will be accompanied by events that introduce employees to the benefits and requirements of the new learning system. "I see the greatest challenge for successful roll-out in particular in the organisational and personal environments," says Günter Eberhart.

Once the system has been tried and tested, Telekom Austria will consider marketing the eLearning knowledge and training content gathered.
