Hyperwave records a 134% increase in sales
May 15, 2001
During the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Hyperwave
has continued to gain more business from its customers. Around half
of the Company's sales - which now amount to 4.3 million euro following
a 134% increase - is accounted for by additional orders from existing
customers. This development is a clear indication of the level of
satisfaction experienced by Hyperwave users. 76% of sales are from
licence business.
Hyperwave's gross yield increased to over 82%. During the last
twelve months, the Company increased its workforce by over 100 to
190, representing an increase of over 100%. A good third of these
employees (68) are based in Germany, with new branches having been
opened in Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt.
Financing this continued expansion represents the predominant cost
factor. Nevertheless, increases in productivity and a consistent
policy on costs enabled the Company to better its planned result
by more than 20%, recording an operating loss of around four million
euro. These expansionary investments will impact positively on sales
over the coming quarters and help lead Hyperwave towards profitability
in the near future.
Development bucks general market trends
Gerhard Pail, Member of The Board Finance and Administration ,
comments: "In contrast to general market trends, Hyperwave
has to date achieved all its targets and has registered very pleasing
customer growth over the last quarter when it has, for example,
secured Deutsche Bahn AG as a new customer."
Overall, the Company secured 23 new orders during the first three
months of the fiscal year. Eleven of these were from customers placing
orders with Hyperwave for the first time including FJA Feilmeier
& Junker GmbH, an Oracle partner, and a consultancy firm for
the financial services and insurance sector.
New business was also concluded with Fujitsu Siemens Global Services,
the Schweizerische Zentrale für Handelsförderung OSEC
(the official trade promotion organization of Switzerland), and
Universal Music International in the UK.
Promoting partnerships
The Company also has good news to report on its partnerships. In
conjunction with IDS Scheer AG, Hyperwave has developed the software
"ARIS for Hyperwave", which unites knowledge management
with business engineering und process orientation. At the Deutsches
Fernerkundungsdatenzentrum [German Centre for Remote Sensing Data]
of the DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt [German
Centre for Air and Space Travel]) in Oberpfaffenhofen, a pilot portal
was configured and presented using the new software in just a few
days.
As an authorised integration partner, Jet Online GmbH, a subsidiary
of IDS Scheer specialising in eSales and content management solutions,
developed personalised portals and editing systems. These are based
on the successful products Hyperwave Information Server and Hyperwave eKnowledge Portal.
