Innovative Portal Solution from Hyperwave
First WAP application and other innovations at CeBIT 2000
Munich, January 17, 2000
Hyperwave, one of the technological leaders in the supply of innovative
knowledge management applications and enterprise information portals,
will be presenting the new Hyperwave eKnowledge Portal at CeBIT
2000 in Hanover. Together with its partners Avinci, CMG, HLP and
SerCon, Hyperwave will be presenting Hyperwave solutions, with examples
from practice, on Stand E32 in Hall 6, from 24 February to 1 March
2000.
A portal for efficient information exchange
Hyperwave's newest product is the Hyperwave eKnowledge Portal,
which is based on the technologically leading, award-winning Hyperwave
Information Server. Internet technologies are used consistently
in this portal solution. In addition, it can be used with standard
web browsers, which means that expensive client installations are
no longer necessary. Hyperwave's Enterprise Information Portals
provide staff, partners or suppliers with relevant information quickly
and easily. Using a personalized interface, they act as a central
location for efficient information exchange within the company and
secure business-to-business communication. With the Hyperwave eKnowledge Portal, companies can generate massive time advantages, concludes
the well-known Delphi Group.
A premiere: using portals via WAP
A further focal point of the presentation is the first Intranet
application via WAP (Wireless Application Protocol). WAP-capable
terminals show how efficiently information can be called up and
presented using Hyperwave applications. Companies who use knowledge-management
systems and Enterprise Information Portals based on the Hyperwave
Information Server will in future be able to use WAP-capable mobile
telephones to access documents and information in the Intranet irrespective
of location. Hyperwave is one of the first members of the WAP Forum
and is working with companies in the communications and IT industry
to develop a worldwide standard for connecting mobile terminal devices
to the Internet and interactive services.
A new interface with SAP
At CeBIT, Hyperwave will also be presenting SAP Connect, developed
jointly with HLP: this configurable interface for Hyperwave server
products provides a close link with the company's SAP R/3 systems.
The Hyperwave applications interface provides staff with comprehensive
read and write access to R/3 systems via BAPIs (Business Application
Programming Interfaces). The data obtained can be displayed or further
processed in Hyperwave-based applications. SAP Connect can be obtained
as an option for both the Hyperwave Information Server and Hyperwave eKnowledge Portal and is based on standardized SAP tools and standards.
Further interfaces to ERP systems are also being developed.
